Astanga Yoga Self Practice course with Stefan Prowaznik

In this workshop week, Stefan guides students through the traditional form of astanga vinyasa yoga, introducing students to a sustainable self practice to strengthen the back & stabilize the pelvis and prepares students for the advanced postures of primary series.
The course will include an introduction of the principles, breath & bandhas. This is followed by an introduction to Vinyasa & the Primary series. The workshop will include time for questions and answers and restorative meditiation. The second part of the course will include Mysore style practice and including technique classes.
Itinerary
•Saturday afternoon: Welcome meeting explaining the workshop, discussing any injuries and determine group levels followed by an intro Pilates class with Jamie Isaac
•Sunday morning: Introduction of the principles, breath & bandhas (energy seals)
•Sunday afternoon: Introduction to Vinyasa (postures linked together and led by the breath)
•Monday morning: Introduction to self practice continued
•Monday afternoon: Workshop (standing postures, closing sequences, any questions from morning practice)
•Tuesday: Rest Day
•Wednesday morning: Mysore style self practice
•Wednesday afternoon: Workshop
•Thursday morning: Mysore style self practice
•Thursday afternoon: Pilates w Jamie Isaac
•Friday morning: Mysore Style self practice
•Friday afternoon: Workshop
•Saturday morning: Mysore Style self practice
We will be limiting the spaces in the Astanga course to 12 to 15 people for optimum teacher attention, to help each student with development and progression. Ideal for those practicing Astanga yoga and feel strain in joints from too serious an astanga practice).
Pre requisite: dynamic flow yoga or Astanga yoga experience.

Stefan has been practicing yoga since 1996 and has taught astanga yoga since 2001.Through his long experience, studies of different kinds of yoga and pilates, and his continuos studies with his main teacher Graeme Northfield, he has developed the Beyond Astanga Yoga series.
Since 2001, Stefan has taught traditional Mysore style classes, non-traditional and traditional led classes and workshops in different countries, including Austria, Ibiza, Thailand and Qatar.His own advanced practice and in depth knowledge of the body in addition to his warmth and humor introduces astanga as a practice to invigorate both body and soul.
