Things to see and do in and around the area
The harbour area is a lovely place to wander and enjoy a coffee at one of the many al fresco cafes. You can climb Corralejo’s bell tower for good views over the town and across to Lobos island and Lanzarote, or visit one of the town’s markets, including the excellent craft and delicatessen market by the bell tower.
Beaches / coastal walk
Corralejo boasts a beautiful coastline with numerous beaches – excellent for both sunbathers and walkers. The combination of black volcanic rock, white sand and turquoise ocean makes for some striking coastal scenery. Heading out from Corralejo towards the Dunes National Park, you will discover everything from small shingle beaches to sweeping white sands, and from calm swimming beaches to crashing waves. Take a picnic and sit and watch the surfers, kitesurfers and windsurfers or eat at one of the excellent fish restaurants by the harbour.
Corralejo Dunes National Park
This protected area stretches for approximately six miles along the coast. The golden dunes resemble a desert until you come to the beautiful clear water of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a truly stunning combination – don’t forget your camera!
Surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, snorkeling and more…
Fuerteventura is famous for its waves and excellent variety of water sports. Fun to watch, even more fun to try, as aqua-adrenaline junkies ourselves, we are well placed to put you in touch with the best water sports companies on the island. We can even put together a tailor made yoga, Pilates and surf holiday for you.
Peddle power is a great way to discover the island. You can hire mountain bikes at either of our locations and explore off the beaten path along the coastal tracks of the national park, or into the hills along dramatic volcanic roads and pathways.
The west coast fishing village of El Cotillo retains much of its old-fashioned charm. Visit the old fort, see the lighthouse on the edge of the rugged north shore and swim in the crystal clear lagoons. We run regular excursions to El Cotillo so you can visit all the best places and have plenty of time for a swim.
Lobos Island is a nature reserve 10 minutes boat ride from Corralejo. Home to rare flora and fauna, the island has excellent walking trails and is a fantastic day out for nature lovers. It also has great beaches and calm bays for swimming and snorkeling.
Climb a volcano, enjoy amazing vistas and feed Fuerteventura’s chipmunks! Or enjoy the cafe culture in this laid back surfers town.
This quiet and quaint Spanish village nestles among the mountain tops and volcanoes towards the island’s greener and more lush centre. Untainted by the tourist route, this trip back in time has more than just its fantastic mountain views to be discovered. Enjoy visiting the old church and watch how the islands aloe vera products are made at a live demonstration.
The island of Lanzarote is only 15 minutes away by ferry. Book a day tour to visit the sights of the island, including Timanfaya National Park and Cesar Manrique’s incredible architecture.
