That’s right! It’s another Pilates DVD!
Well, not exactly. The purpose of this was to do something a little more than just bring Pilates into your life, or me into your living room.
Firstly, I wanted to get beyond the usual, long introductions and time spent going over the fundamentals, and design a sequence that gets you moving and having some fun, maybe even trying a few new exercises. The sequence is a mixture of classical and contemporary exercises that allows you to build on the principles of alignment and centring.
The workout would be a nice progression for guests to follow on from their time at the retreat, or for those already with some Pilates experience, looking to challenge themselves further.
Secondly, with wellbeing generally being focused on the ‘self’, we wanted to do something that reminded us all that within our ‘us’ time, we should take time to expand our thoughts beyond ourselves and realise the importance of compassion for all living beings.
Finally we wanted to find a soundtrack that inspired you to put the DVD on and helped you bring the mind and body together with its very own flow. So many exercise DVDs have such bland background music, it can put you off playing them altogether, or prevent you from flowing with the music… We tested out the ‘feel’ of some beautiful tracks by Moby and they worked so well and really fitted with the mind body and breath element, so we decided to get in touch with Moby.
Being the fabulous guy that he is and a major supporter of animal charities, he agreed to allow us to use the tunes, and I have to say, I am pretty excited to be grooving and moving along with Moby, on my first DVD release!
