Yoga, Pilates and Surf Retreat Package

This package includes:

  • Seven nights accommodation at Surya Retreat
  • Three days surfing (equipment, wetsuits, beach transfers and expert tuition included)
  • Daily sessions of Pilates, yoga and meditation at our retreat or on the beach
  • Full-body massage
  • Daily breakfasts and 5 vegetarian evening meals

Prices from 865 euros at Surya Retreat for the shared Zen room option for the Yoga, Pilates and Surf package. Please enquire with your room preference, and whether you prefer shared or private options and we will confirm the surf package price for you. Please note, surf courses run based on the best conditions for you to learn in (tides, wind etc). This may mean you will miss one of the twice daily classes. When you sign up for the package, it does take into account you may one class on your surf days – not to worry – there are always 2 daily classes and the surf days are often 4+ hours so you will be getting plenty of activity and value.

Surf classes and courses

The surf classes and courses are provided by International Surfing Association (ISA) and British Surfing Association (BSA) qualified instructors, who have spent many years on the island sharing their passion for the sport and Fuerteventura’s waves. Surfing classes and courses are available for all abilities and levels, from absolute beginners to aspiring pros. Go surfing for a day or take a course – see below for more details.

Yoga and Pilates instruction

Make the most of your time out of the water with morning and evening yoga and Pilates classes. We offer a wide choice of classes – including hatha yoga, power yoga, vinyasa flow, mat-based Pilates and meditation – so whether you want to relax your body and mind or challenge yourself to a more dynamic class, the choice is yours. Our experienced, specialised instructors are passionate about what they do and our small class sizes mean you will be able to get the most out of each class.

Please note the surf pick up time is dependent on the tide for the best learning conditions – this may mean missing a morning or afternoon class or leaving class a little early. We have extra classes in our schedule to compensate for this (some days with three classes daily). The course is planned so you have plenty of action but still have energy to enjoy your week – just leave it to us to arrange a great holiday for you!

The benefits of yoga and Pilates for surf

The benefits of both yoga and Pilates for surfing performance include increasing:

  • Flexibility
  • Strength – especially core strength from Pilates
  • Body awareness and synergy
  • Fluidity of movement
  • Stamina

Many of surfing’s greats now include yoga and/or Pilates in their training regimes. Head Pilates Instructor and surfer, Jamie Isaac’s list of clients includes many surfers and kitesurfing enthusiasts, including World Tournament and multiple British Kitesurf Champion, Danny Seales.

The fine print: as with all services, since we guarantee a personal surf experience of 8 students or less, we would like to make you aware of the following Surf cancellation policy.
In case of cancellation of your Surf Course, the following fees may apply:

– Cancellation more than 72 Hours prior to start of course : No Cancellation Fee.
– Cancellation between 72 Hours and 48 Hours prior to start of course : 15 Euros Per Person Per Day for length of the booked course*.
– Cancellation > 24 Hours prior to start of course : 100 % – Full Cost Price of Course*.
*Cancellation fees may apply at the discretion of Azulfit/ 7 Island surf. If cancellation is due to illness or injury, this requires a doctors visit (receipt) or doctor’s note.

Enchanting and relaxing stay in a unique oasis of calm
From the first minute of this holiday I felt very relaxed and looked after. There I was met by one of the Managers who was so warm and friendly I instantly felt as if I had known her for years! I was transported from my corporate fast paced world into an oasis of calm, with gentle music playing, incense burning subtly in the corner and all set within a holistic bubble of calm just a stones throw from the beach. After the morning yoga session you are treated to a wonderful array of fresh, home made breakfast treats such as quinoa porridge, baked bread and banana pancakes. It was all set out ready for us when we arrived back from the yoga (and we were ready for it by then). A lot of thought goes in to providing high quality, healthy, inspiring food to try – it was all delicious!!! Then you had time to explore the island, read a good book, go for a walk, learn to surf (as I did – and would thoroughly recommend), or just relax. Anything goes and you are really made to feel that this is your holiday.
